City of Moncton Building Permits to Date Surpass 2024 Year-End Total

Moncton’s building activity remains strong, with $309.7 million in permits issued in the first half of 2025 — already ahead of 2024’s full-year total.
In Q2 alone, the City issued 365 permits worth $112.1 million, led by significant residential, institutional, and commercial projects. Residential growth is especially notable, with 800 new units approved so far this year — up 70% from the same time in 2024.
The city is now just $56 million away from breaking its all-time record set in 2022.
