Overview:

Back in June, the City of Moncton in partnership with Working NB, World Education Services, Jumpstart Refugee Talent, the Refugees Jobs Agenda Roundtable, and various other stakeholders, including MAGMA, IRCC, and the Ukrainian Club of Moncton, hosted a unique pilot hiring event. The event was for refugees and forcibly displaced persons currently seeking employment in the Greater Moncton Area.

This niche model was a powerful means of bridging refugees and forcibly displaced talent with meaningful employment. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.

Event highlights:

• 8 employers and 43 candidates attended
• 85% hired or moved to the next interview stage
• 12 positions directly filled
